Summer in the office

Latest trends, Reviews

Some great picks from Dotti Australia that will freshen up your office look!

Office dress code can put a lot of people off. Everything becomes too complicated, all those limitations all around, a lot of clothes that you like are deemed inappropriate and so on. All in all finding suitable office clothes that you will actually enjoy wearing can be a nightmare.

So I put together a bunch of items that you can use to create your very own office style. All of them are super affordable and most will be in accordance with your company dress code.

The fastest way to glam up any office look is to wear a jacket. Jackets can be different, the kind I am talking about here is a more relaxed tweed or perhaps knit jacket, just like the one below. It instantly adds chic and femininity to your look, regardless of what you are wearing.

Jacket is always a chic addition to any look Basic top that will make your outerwear last longer. Always wear underneath!  Figure hugging dress in this length is appropriate for office and looks great

The only thing is – you gotta be careful with the length. We don’t wanna reveal “too much”, especially in the office. So my advice is to only wear short jackets with a skirt. Unless you really want to flaunt your perfect thighs.

Longer jackets, on the other hand, will look best with pants or jeans, especially if they are made from the same color material.

For the lucky few whose company is more laid back – make the most of it. It is summer time! Inject some color in your look and brighten the whole office. Denim shirts will look just as appropriate as cotton ones, but don’t they feel much more comfy?

This color block shirt will lengthen you legs if worn with black pants  Show off your skinny ankles with this cropped pant  Absolute classic and an appropriate substitute for a classic pant

In the summer time we naturally want to open more flesh to the sun, however it can be hard to do that and still keep to all the corporate rules. But what rule can stop us from showing off our ankles? I don’t think so!

So there we go – a little bit of inspiration goes a long way. And I hope that the prospect of buying office clothes this summer is less daunting now 🙂

Dressing for the office can be tricky. For the modern chic woman, brown, black, and navy pantsuits simply won’t do. There are certain professional guidelines that need to be followed of course, but that doesn’t mean that work wear should be boring. There are so many ways to inject a dose of fashion fun into your everyday office attire.

Different offices have different dress codes, but here are some general style guidelines and styling tips to spice up your work wear:

1. Embrace Color and Prints

No need to confine your office style to neutrals and plain colors. Add some punchy colors and prints into the mix, but always make sure to pick colors and patterns that are a bit subdued and not too loud. Stripes and polka dots are your best bet when it comes to prints, and when it comes to colors choose hues that are more jewel toned than neon. Anchoring your outfit in a basic color like black, white, navy, or brown will keep you looking professional.

2. Extra! Extra!

Accessories are a great way to ease into adding more color and prints into your work wardrobe. A shot of color from your jewelry, scarf, belt, purse or heels can liven up an all-black office attire.

5. Modern Black and White

Stuck in your white button-down and black trousers uniform? Get out of that fashion rut by falling into crisp silhouettes with more stark and graphic black-and-white designs. Black and white has already been tried-and-tested for the office, but these geometric motifs will make you look more current and on trend.
